Free Investing Calculators

Short answer
Five free calculators for the decisions investors second-guess most: what selling in a drop cost you on real S&P 500 data, what averaging down changes, how much gain a loss needs to recover, what cash on the sidelines costs, and what an advisory fee costs in dollars. No signup, and nothing you enter is stored.
Most investing calculators project a smooth future. These look at decisions instead: the sale you made in a drop, the shares you are thinking of adding, the cash you are holding, the fee you are paying. Each one runs in your browser on numbers you enter, and the stayed-invested calculator uses real daily S&P 500 closes since 2018. They describe arithmetic and history, not what any market will do next.
Link your portfolio and see, in dollars, what your own holdings would have done if you had held through past crashes instead of selling. Every sale and re-entry after that is scored against staying invested.

Enter the day you sold and the day you bought back, and see the dollar gap against holding the S&P 500 on real daily closes. Useful after any market drop where you went to cash.
Average down calculator
Shows your new average cost per share, the rise needed to break even before and after buying more, and how much more a further 20% fall would cost once the position is larger.
Stock loss recovery calculator
Shows the gain needed to get back to even after any loss, such as 42.9% after a 30% loss or 100% after a 50% loss, and how many years recovery takes at a return you choose.
Cash drag calculator
Puts a dollar figure on money left in cash instead of invested, for the amount, interest rate, return and time frame you enter.
Financial advisor fee calculator
Turns an advisory fee into dollars paid and the ending balance given up against a lower fee, with presets for a typical 1% advisor, Empower, Fidelity Go, Vanguard Personal Advisor and Betterment.
From calculators to your real decisions
Calculators work on the numbers you type. Pure Benchmarks, our own product, works on a connected account: it scores every buy and sell you actually made against the portfolio you would have had without it, and ranks your portfolio against verified investors in the same risk category.
